WIRED VS. WIRELESS |

LIST OF AVAILABLE EQUIPMENT |
|
WIRELESS:
Wireless equipment is by far the most preferable, as it allows attendees to move if necessary, such as in a large convention setting where numerous languages are being interpreted.
WIRED:
Wired equipment is used in "round-table" type discussions where a relatively small number of attendees take part and each must speak as well as listen. This equipment is more expensive since each unit must contain a microphone and a speaker or headphone.
|
FM PROS:
• Less expensive
• Hi quality & good range
• Excellent versatility
- Can be used with portable or table-top transmitters
• Blockage is not an issue
- The signal usually covers balcony & mezzanine levels
FM CONS:
The signal travels outside of the room, so if more than one room is used, and they are close, each room may need a separate channel.
The signal travels outside of the room, therefore it is possible for someone who really wanted to, to eavesdrop.
