The right equipment:
Generally, when there are 1000 or more attendees it becomes more cost effective to sell them an inexpensive radio (or bring their own), rather than rent expensive receivers and have the hassle of making sure they aren’t broken or lost. In this case, we simply set up a low powered transmitter to broadcast the interpreters voice.
Cost:
This method is actually about the same cost as renting a receiver for a 3 day conference. So, the first year, there is an investment, however, for consecutive years, a significant savings is apparent.
Laws of broadcasting:
Each country has laws of broadcasting. In the USA, the FCC has designed a complicated technical standard intended to limit how far the signal will travel, rather than how strong it is allowing us to transmit within the standards. |
Managing a convention can be a monumental task, taking into account all of the interpreters and their scheduled events, their travel and accommodations, the equipment and technicians as well as customer service staff to ensure that your meeting runs smoothly.
In order to guarantee our conventions run smoothly, we have a customized tracking system. Every function has a calendar of events that can be changed up to the last second and every interpreter will be informed. Equipment and technicians are tracked throughout the process and you as the client have secure on-line access to all of your scheduling to see how the function is running and help determine changes up to the last second.
This ensures we are on track and you are confident your function will run without a hitch! |
